The working Sub Committee in its meeting held on 3rd Jan 1935 decided to construct two Squash Courts in the club. Since the club finances at that time did not stand the recommended estimate for building of two squash courts it was resolved to build only one court within the sum of money of Rs.5000/- which was available for this purpose. The Working Sub Committee in its meeting held on 27th Feb 1936 decided to name the Squash Courts as “The Wellingdon Squash courts” The meeting was chaired by Sir Ernest Burdon KCIE, CSI, ICS. The design of the tablets and the wording of the inscription that you see on the building of the Squash Courts was decided by Sir Ernest Burdon and Sardar Bahadur T S Malik. Two additional courts have been added since then out of which one has a glass back . The cost of the glass back was financed by one of the very prominent squash player of the club late Mr Ashok Parashar. All the courts are air-conditioned . The timings are 7am to 9pm. The dependents can, however play only between 3.00pm to 4.30pm.
